For breakfast this morning, I played a game of What’s In The Fridge… You know…the game you play when you didn’t plan ahead and you have no idea what sounds good or what you even have… I rummaged around in there and found some leftover plain, cooked spaghetti squash. Cooking a spaghetti squash or two to have on hand makes for easy sides or meals. Simply by adding mushrooms, garlic and chives freshly picked… Continue Reading
Mister wanted french toast this morning, and I’ll be honest. I didn’t feel like making it. In fact, he specifically asked for coconut flour flatbread french toast, and I had never before concocted such a thing. It sounded amazing, really. It also sounded like a bit more work than what I was feeling up to…being in the throes of a wicked allergy attack lately. I found myself wishing I fed my kids… Continue Reading
I was in one of those I’m Hungry But Nothing Sounds Good And I Don’t Feel Like Cooking moods. It’s a familiar mood, unfortunately. Last night when I went to bed, I was determined to get up in the morning and spend time with YHWH and His Word first thing. BEFORE checking email and Facebook and YouFood. Before writing blog posts (another area in which I was feeling uninspired). I… Continue Reading
Yesterday, I wrote about repurposing…or Making Do With What We Have. Ironically, that’s just what I had to do when making supper later. The result is this deliciously easy Spaghetti Soup! Wait…it’s hot and humid out (or so I hear), why on earth am I making soup? Well, because when I went to make spaghetti sauce, for some reason I grabbed the tomato juice from my pantry instead of… Continue Reading
If you cook, you know how important it is to keep food from sticking, right? Do you use parchment paper often? Does it just burn your cookies to buy something that’s just going to get tossed out? It does mine! I used to think parchment paper was just a frou-frou Martha Stewart thing, but then I tried baking on it and loved the non-stick qualities. I even reused it as… Continue Reading
Can I be excited? My Dark Chocolate Coconut Cake in a Mug recipe was included in the NEW Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook! You’ll find it on page 293. When you think diet, what comes to your mind? Deprivation? Like, all the things you can’t eat anymore? Pizza. Cake. Cookies. Chocolate. Ice cream. That’s one thing I love about Trim Healthy Mama. If I want cake, I can have it – generally… Continue Reading
This Easy Wasa Pizza came about because I was craving pizza. It was getting close to bedtime, so it had to be easy. It had to fit in with the Trim Healthy Mama guidelines I am following, too, because… Confession: I love pizza. I could eat it every day. Seriously. Reality: the pizza I have loved all my life makes me fat. It’s unhealthy.
If you love garlic and want an easy way to peel it, then you need to check out my From The Farm Favorite this week! Since I want to make some fermented garlic soon, this will certainly come in handy. I’m pretty sure Mister will be more than happy to help me peel the garlic using this easy method.
These easy, baked stuffed jalapeno peppers make a great snack or party food. One serving (two pepper halves) falls into the Fuel Pull category for you Trim Healthy Mamas out there. You could have more in an S setting. I wanted to create something that would fit with FP, because I wasn’t very hungry but was craving something spicy (again!) so I used a combination of light cream cheese… Continue Reading
One thing my recent dietary changes has brought about is Learning To Like Foods I Always Thought I Hated. I’m broadening my food horizons these days. I’ve never been a big fan of squash necessarily, but this Savory Roasted Butternut Squash has me rethinking the I Don’t Like Squash thing I’ve claimed for so long. Because it’s really very good. And it’s good for you.
