By now, you’ve probably seen or heard about Trim Healthy Mama. Do you see people posting delicious looking meals in your Facebook feed? With a seemingly strange language to describe it…like “I just made this amazing GGMS and CIM for breakfast! I can’t believe I’m eating cake for breakfast and it’s good for me!!” And, even more confounding is that they are losing weight while eating what looks to you… Continue Reading
Why dye a shirt in mason jar? Our youngest son needed a Harley Davidson orange dress shirt for his oldest brother’s upcoming wedding. I found all kinds of long sleeve shirts, but no luck with short sleeve in his size, even on Amazon, that either did not cost a fortune or would arrive in time for the wedding. What does one do when one needs a specific color shirt and… Continue Reading
Sometimes I wonder if people think I’m “super religious” now that I’ve joined what is often perceived as this strange, cultish “movement” known as Hebrew Roots. I’ve been accused of being Jewish. I’ve been asked what is going on with me now. I’ve seen some curious looks cast my way. People think it’s weird that I don’t eat pork and feel sorry for me because I’m missing out on the… Continue Reading
Homeschooling Torah is celebrating their TWO year anniversary! We started using Homeschooling Torah two years ago, so it’s been exciting to watch this community grow. The Elliot’s are just wonderful, supportive people and I really appreciate all they do to make this curriculum amazing. The support from the HT community of members is terrific too. You feel like part of the family there. Not something you get with most curricula, right?
Think about it. A year from now, what will you wish you had started? What will you regret starting and not following through? A year sounds so long, especially when you have a huge task in front of you. And yet, it goes by in the blink of an eye. If you’re a mom, you definitely know what I’m talking about. August 18, 2014 was a huge turning point in… Continue Reading
We are oddballs. We purposely live on one income in a society that says you just can’t make it unless both parents work outside the home. It’s a choice we made for our family, because we felt it was best for this momma to be home with the kiddos. We do without a lot of things. Never necessities, and I’m so blessed that we lay down to sleep at night… Continue Reading
My daughter has not been feeling well for some time. We’ve taken her to the doctor, have had tests done, and according to them she is just fine. Try telling her that! She doesn’t feel fine at all. We’ve been (mostly) gluten free for a few years now. I’ve left it up to her (she’s 15) whether or not she cheats at all, like at the occasional family get-together… Continue Reading
A heartfelt apology to my readers for the ball that has been dropped recently!! Life has a way of happening, doesn’t it? And sometimes, it just gets in the way of things. And boy o boy, has life gotten in the way lately! That’s what happened this spring. Partly my own doing, partly circumstances beyond my control. I’m not even going to go into detail because the past is the… Continue Reading
Passover and the Feast of Unleavened bread have long been thought of as only Jewish holidays. I used to think so too, until YHWH (God) began to open my eyes to understand that He only has one set of family rules. As a believer in Yeshua (Jesus), I am “grafted in” to His family tree. So, I have chosen to follow the family rules as outlined in YHWHs own word,… Continue Reading
It’s From The Farm Friday again! My favorite from last week’s hop is one that reminded me of something I’ve wanted to do for some time – Obtain a big old stack of cloth napkins so I don’t have to buy paper napkins anymore. I planned on making them…and it hasn’t happened yet so maybe I’ll just have to do what she did. It’s right up my bargain-hunting alley!
