A Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook? It’s like Pinterest on your bookshelf! I’ve seen many people asking “Do I really need the new Trim Healthy Mama cookbook? Is there anything new in it or is it the same recipes that were in the old book?” Need is always relative of course. Can you do the plan without the new cookbook? Sure (but it’s much more fun with it)! Is there anything… Continue Reading
Way back in November of last year, I wrote about one of my favorite apps – TwoGrand. It is the only app that I use every single day without fail. YouFood has been instrumental in my weightloss success because it helps me keep track of the elements in my lifestyle that affect my weight (and health): I can easily see what I’ve eaten (or not) in a day. This helps… Continue Reading
It’s time for a Reality Check. We need a reality check from time to time, mamas. Life gets busy. Complicated. Stuff happens…or doesn’t. Failing to take a moment and be realistic about where we are and where we want to be is kind of like keeping our head in the sand. How can we adjust our course if we refuse to acknowledge when we have wandered off from it?
Today, I looked at my desk. It looked back…mocking me. I decided I wasn’t going to let my desk ‘dis’ me like that. And I had a re-visitation of starry host singing hallelujah and radiant glory shining down upon me (or How I Found the Possible Holy Grail of Paper Organization). And behold, a revelation on how to decide what to title the six sections in my (possible) Holy Grail of… Continue Reading
If you are like me, you have piles. Because organizing doesn’t always come easily for you. Deep down inside, you WANT to have files…neatly color-coded, alphabetized files in fashionable designs housed in cute but functional receptacles for said files. You want the contents to be neatly arranged, so whatever contract, bill, recipe or other item magically appears the instant you look for it. The reality is that files just don’t… Continue Reading
It’s been a month since my last blog post, I don’t know where the time has gone! The last several weeks have been busy with “getting through the holidays,” fellowship gatherings, and adjusting to life with a black lab puppy. Well ok, that last one is probably where the time has gone. She is pretty high-maintenance… Unlike my chickens.
Sometimes I wonder if people think I’m “super religious” now that I’ve joined what is often perceived as this strange, cultish “movement” known as Hebrew Roots. I’ve been accused of being Jewish. I’ve been asked what is going on with me now. I’ve seen some curious looks cast my way. People think it’s weird that I don’t eat pork and feel sorry for me because I’m missing out on the… Continue Reading
Think about it. A year from now, what will you wish you had started? What will you regret starting and not following through? A year sounds so long, especially when you have a huge task in front of you. And yet, it goes by in the blink of an eye. If you’re a mom, you definitely know what I’m talking about. August 18, 2014 was a huge turning point in… Continue Reading
We are oddballs. We purposely live on one income in a society that says you just can’t make it unless both parents work outside the home. It’s a choice we made for our family, because we felt it was best for this momma to be home with the kiddos. We do without a lot of things. Never necessities, and I’m so blessed that we lay down to sleep at night… Continue Reading
Passover and the Feast of Unleavened bread have long been thought of as only Jewish holidays. I used to think so too, until YHWH (God) began to open my eyes to understand that He only has one set of family rules. As a believer in Yeshua (Jesus), I am “grafted in” to His family tree. I have chosen to follow the family rules as outlined in YHWHs own word, the… Continue Reading
